Ms. Formal, joined the Research Department of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as Vice President, Research Business Development in March 2008. At LLS, Allison is responsible for helping to identify and vet biotechnology and pharmaceutical company opportunities that come through the Therapy Acceleration Program (TAP), as well as, non-grant academic programs through our Academic Concierge Program. Ms Formal leads the negotiation and execution of contracts with industry and academic partners, and together with the TAP team, participates in the post-contract project management of those partnerships. Since March 2008, over 20 biotech business alliances and academic partnerships to accelerate drug development in the blood cancer space have been negotiated and successfully implemented.
Allison brings over twenty years of experience in business development, contracting, and project management in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Her previous BD positions were at companies including MediQuest Therapeutics, Neuralstem, Watson, Schein and Schien-Bayer Pharmaceutical Services. Allison started her career with Pfizer as a professional sales representative in the 1980s.
Allison received her MBA from Marymount University and her undergraduate degree from the American University in Washington D.C.
